Spoot finds the watch that ditched its hands for spinning discs

Most wristwatches give you a pair of hands to follow, even when they've stripped away the numbers. LAWA Design's Gradient Watch removes those pointers, too, and replaces them with spinning discs that tell time through color and motion. It's the kind of idea that makes you stop scrolling and stare at your own wrist, wondering why nobody thought of it sooner. The discs overlap and rotate, creating shifting gradients that mark the hour and minute, no hands, no numerals, just a slow ballet of tinted glass. It looks like a concept that escaped from a museum exhibit and landed on a strap. I love it. But I also want to know how quickly you can actually read it at a glance, and whether that beautiful confusion ever becomes intuitive.
