hidden courtyards

A pink island roof punched with seven secret gardens, each one a room

The roof of M Residence looks like someone took a cookie cutter to a terracotta-colored slab. Seven irregular openings break up its square outline, revealing hidden courtyards punched directly into the structure. Each one is a room. Each one is a garden. That pink Greek island home just turned its roof into something wilder than a terrace, it's a constellation of secret outdoor spaces, carved in like afterthoughts that turned out to be the whole point. I love the audacity of that. No polite landscaping on the periphery. They dug holes in the roof and called them rooms. It's the kind of detail you circle back to, wondering why nobody thought of it before. Seven gardens, one pink slab, and a whole new way to live outside.
