Zappos

The 574 is on sale and your old pair just got jealous

A discount on the 574 isn't a surprise, it's a reflex. New Balance's most stubbornly reliable sneaker has been anchoring shoe racks for decades, and Zappos just knocked the price down far enough that your current pair should probably start worrying. This is the shoe you buy when you're tired of thinking about shoes. If you want the full New Balance deep dive, our piece on the 990's first real tweak since 2022 covers what happens when the brand's other icon finally gets restless. But the 574? It doesn't tweak. It just keeps being the 574, now for less money.
