Amazon and Best Buy are already cutting the new Fire TV Stick 4K in half

Amazon and Best Buy are already slashing the new Fire TV Stick 4K in half, just weeks after it landed. That brings the price to a very spooty $29.99, an all-time low for hardware that just stopped needing its own wall wart. The headline trick here is that it now draws power straight from your TV's USB port, which is one of those details that sounds small until you remember every other dongle's awkward brick. It does 4K at 60fps with HDR10 Plus, though the old side-loading loophole is gone. The redesigned remote gets an asymmetrical, tactile feel, and the updated OS leans harder into Alexa Plus.
