Asking for the finest of northern New England, please? (ME, NH, VT)

Hi there! We're Brits from Old England, travelling across northern New England in a few weeks. We'd really appreciate your travel suggestions.

Essentially, we're looking for natural beauty, calm spots to enjoy an ice cream, and historical areas. We're planning an itinerary between Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

We're not hikers or campers, but we'd love to drive through some truly quaint towns that are hidden gems, see the beauty of the New England spring, and enjoy some local history.
