Why does it seem like every makeup era has it own makeup blindness?

I'm just curious why this happens consistently through decades. Right now we are having a blush and nose contour blindness, 2016 had everything blindness, 00s eyebrow and foundation blindness and so on.

Every decade before that is also defined by their own makeup trends, but also the one or more thing that gets taken to the extreme by a lot of people. I find it interesting, but can't really figure out why it happens. What do you all think?
