Do denim brands have internal design criteria for repairability?
Hi! I've been researching how apparel brands approach repair at the design stage not repair programs or take back schemes, but upstream decisions like seam type, hardware replaceability, thread choice, etc.
Does anyone know if brands actually formalize this into their product development process, or is it more intuitive/brand culture? Trying to understand if structured repairability criteria exist inside companies before a garment is produced.
Would love to hear from anyone who's worked in product development, sustainability, or technical design.
