Builder Gel Questions

Builder Gel Questions
Builder Gel Questions

Hi everyone, my name is Jake. I’m a 25-year-old guy and I’m currently learning how to do builder gel on my nails. I’m still pretty new to it, so I would really love any tips, tricks, or advice you all have.

I’ve done one or two sets on myself so far, and I wanted to share the steps I usually take in case anyone sees something I could improve. One thing I’m especially trying to figure out is why the top of my nails seems to lift pretty fast.

This is my usual process:

1. I start by doing cuticle care, cleaning up my cuticles, and buffing my nails. 2. Then I apply dehydrator and make sure there is no oil left on my skin or nails. 3. I do a very thin first layer of builder gel and cure it in my UV lamp for 60 seconds. 4. After that, I go in with a thicker layer of builder gel. 5. Then I usually freehand a fun design from Pinterest. Sorry if my lines are a little shaky, this is still a new hobby for me while working full time and being in grad school for finance haha. Honestly, it has been a really fun outlet and makes me feel put together and clean as a guy. 6. Then I finish with top coat and cure it in my UV lamp.

Thank you all so much. I attached pictures and would really appreciate any advice or feedback.
