Frank & Eileen Westport pants: actual measured size vs. size ordered, quality of construction

These pants look super in the photos. Just what I'm looking for. The fabric looks like it has enough body to hang well.

Got a size 10, figuring that the actual measurements would be a couple inches larger.

Company size 10 measurements: waist 30.5" , hip 40.5

Measured actual size: waist 36", hip 44"--> waist is 6 inches larger than stated measure. Thsi is 4 inches of ease on me. Hip measure is OK.

Construction: poor considering the cost. Lots of hanging threads, bunchy serger finishing on seams, pocketing with stitched-in wrinkes.

Fabric quality: Very thin, nothing like the photos. Garment very wrinkled, like it just came out of the shipping container. Hangs limply on my body.

Garment fit: poor on me but not going into that as fit is so variable.

Conclusion: Returning because fit and quality are so poor that it's not worth the cost of getting the waistline tailored to fit.

(It's infuriating that most online fashion companies don't publish the actual measurements of their garments, or publish inaccurate measures. How are we supposed to know what size to buy? The photos are no help. The models are stick-thin and the garments are often pinned to make them fit. I'm going to start posting actual measurements for all pants I buy. I am a very experienced sewer and know how to measure garments. While I am at it, I'll add my opinion of the quality of the interior and exterior finish.)

(Why, if I can sew, don't I just make some pants? Because fitting pants on yourself is the Mount Everest of sewing and I need some pants now, while I slowly scale that mountain. )
